These are the drivers you need to run the latest games. They are stored separate from the rest of the Windows drivers, so you don't need to worry about your system going bonkers or something. Well, the games which need you to have DX7 require a hell of a lot of resources, like RAM, 3D Acceleration etc. So, these may not be of so much use to the average computer user.
