GetRight and Go!Zilla
These are the applications you should get before downloading any file. They are most suited to India, due to frequent disconnections from the net. They allow you to pause and resume a download whenever you want, and if the concerned server wants (all servers don't support resume, but most do). The file can be scanned automatically, if you put it in the options.
You may have your preferences, but I stongly recommend GetRight, because it is a no-nonsense straight-forward utility, as opposed to the much fancy Go!Zilla, which has all weird monsters as buttons and even more weird explanations to the buttons when you take the mouse over them. GetRight has better sound clips and GR 4 is the best download application according to me.
